A Little About Me

I hail from the sunny city of Philadelphia, although I haven't lived there in quite some time. Alaska, New Mexico, and Kansas have all been called home at one time or another. Besides teaching earth science and biology, I spend as much of my time outside as humanly possible. Mountain biking, rock climbing, backpacking, running, and picnicing top my list of favorite outdoor activities. To express my creative side, I spend some time working ceramics and trying desperately to get myself published. In addition to teaching at Elkton, I receive a paycheck from REI, where I instruct mountain biking, hiking and other outdoor classes. http://www.rei.com/rei/outdoorschool/OSsched.jsp#Thing4 I base my teaching style off the legendary Kurt Hahn, who founded outward bound. www.elob.org I try to keep myself on top of the happenings in the world, and do my part to work for human rights. www.amnestyusa.org Racing has become a big part of my life lately. Find your own race at www.active.com Whenever I need a laugh, I watch cartoons at www.homestarrunner.com - Strongbad is my favorite!
