|
Summer K.A.M.P. at WRES is an adventure every day. Our students meet with our Camp Counselors every morning, get a little breakfast in a bag, and review the daily purpose of K.A.M.P. Knowledge x Application x Motivation = Performance Next, students are off to camp. Students meet at the campfire to reflect on the previous day's learning by sharing what they wrote in their K.A.M.P. journals. The K.A.M.P. song is sung together to reinforce the student's commitment to achieving S-U-C-C-E-S-S. Then, it's off to Wilderness Point for a focus lesson using the Promethean Board. Students continue to stations such as Lantern Hill, Pompey Park, Milller Mountain, Dome Ridge, Lantern Computer Cliff, and Dome Computer Cliff to get essential concept review and practice in small group. At mid-morning, students take a break at Canteen Cove, following recipes to make camp snacks such as Trail Mix, Camp Snack Mix, Ice-Cream, and Worms in the Dirt. Then, it's back to Wilderness Point and the other stations for continued K.A.M.P. activities. Finally, at the end Summer K.A.M.P. each day, students reflect on the day's activities, key learning, and focus. Check out the pictures of Summer K.A.M.P. at WRES! We Have Got the Power!
