School Registration

Registration for 2009-2010 School Year

All student registrations are conducted at the Office of Student Assignment located at 100 North Davis Road. Accepting applications daily from 8:30 AM until 3:30 PM.

New Students - Students new to the Troup County School System

Re-Entries - Students who have previously withdrawn from the Troup County School System and are seeking to re-enter

Zone Changes - Students who have moved to a different attendance zone within the school system (Callaway-Troup-LaGrange)

Documents Required for Pre-Kindergarten Are:

• Certified Birth Certificate
• Recent Proof of Address *
• Copy of Child’s Social Security Card is requested
• Picture ID

Documents Required for Kindergarten Are:

• Birth Certificate
• Immunization Form 3231 - (Requested) Must be presented at the beginning of the school year.
• Eye, Ear, Dental Check Form 3300  - (Requested) Must be presented at the beginning of the school year.
• Social Security Number Requested
• Recent Proof of Address
• Picture ID - Parent/Legal Guardian

*ACCEPTABLE proof of address: Recent rent receipt, utility or telephone bill; lease agreement, tax bill, mortgage deed or sales contract.

NOT ACCEPTABLE: driver’s license, Medicaid card, voter ID or TV cable bill

School Attendance Zones

Troup County is divided into three attendance zones which include one high school, one middle school and from four to five elementary schools per zone. All elementary schools serve grades Pre-K through 5. For the elementary school registration process, parents may rank the elementary schools in order of preference for assignment.

West Side Fine Arts Magnet School serves all three zones in grades 3 - 8.

Ethel Kight Math, Science, Technology Magnet School serves the LaGrange Zone for grades Pre-K through 5.

New Students and Re-Entries Are Required to Provide the Following Documents when Registering at the Office of Student Assignment

• Birth Certificate
• Immunization Form 3231 - (Requested) Must be presented at the beginning of the school year.
• Eye, Ear, Dental Check Form 3300  - (Requested) Must be presented at the beginning of the school year.
• Social Security Number
• Proof of Residency
• Picture ID - Parent/Legal Guardian
