Dear Parents,
Tuesday we attended an assembly on Fire Safety. Two firefighters from the Loudonville Fire Station came to St. Pius X School to give the presentation.
The children enjoyed learning about fire safety. We wrote a class thank you letter to them. We will be reading stories about and practicing fire safety. This week we also practiced school-wide fire drills; the children did an excellent job during the drill. Please ask your child about the Fire Safety presentation.
The children learned about Christopher Columbus. They copied a poem and I attached it to a ship that they colored and cut out. The ships and poems are displayed in our room.
In religion the children learned about the Feast of St. Francis and the Feast of the Holy Rosary. Each child received a Rosary and The Rosary for Children instruction booklet. We will be reciting the Rosary a decade at a time through out the month.
Because of limited seating on the buses we are asking all parents to drive to Liberty Ridge Farm, even the designated chaperones. You may meet us there or follow the buses from St. Pius. Whichever is more convenient for you. Thank you.
We do not have any children with food allergies. You may send in baked goods or food containing peanut butter for snack.
Just a few reminders, South Colonie will not be bussing on Friday.
St. Pius X School has a half-day on Friday, October 9 and there is no school on Monday in honor of Columbus Day.
Have a great long weekend!
Mrs. Jones
