STAT St. Anastasia Teens

  STAT (St. Anastasia Teens)

Our last STAT event was a Pilgrimage Day.

We went to St. John Neumann Shrine in Philadelphia.  Here are some other things we did:

Watched a video that gave us goosebumps (literally!):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PKa-foPdl8

Had lunch at a cool Mexican Restaurant:

Las Cazuelas

http://www.lascazuelas.net/

Listened as Mrs. Karaolis told the story about her first cousin who was cured through the intercession of St. John Neumann (it was the third "official" cure that led to his canonization)

Visited the Gift Shop at the Shrine

Spent time in prayer before the body of

St. John Neumann

Went on a scavenger hunt in the museum

and then a fun bus ride home!

We had a great day at City Team!  Spent our time there sorting barrels and barrels of canned goods for the poor.  Had a tour of the facilty and all the good works they do there in the city.  Met with three amazing young guys who told us their stories about recovery from drugs and alcohol.  How just fooling around with drinking in high school led them to losing their families and to homelessness!  They were guys that looked just like us!  From our neighborhoods (one guy was from Broomall and had attended Cardinal O'Hara).  They were amazing in that they did not blame anyone but themselves for their bad choices in life.

Thank you to our host for the day, Macaira Koch!!

For your fine example of what it really means to be a Christian!

Macaira Koch and Lauren Bochanski led us in prayer and an opening getting to know you activity

We  also took some time for prayer and guided meditation with our leader Cara Stolarczyk, and confessions in the chapel with Father Chris

We also had pizza!  And some great snacks.
