Get Blogging
A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog. Postings on a blog are almost always arranged in chronological order with the most recent additions featured most prominantly. Just remember to protect your students' privacy. Also be sure to turn off the "Next Blog" link on the top of certain blog sites like blogger.com. You never know what's coming next. Set your blog up so no information can get online until you have approved it. Sample Blogs | | | | Mrs. Avinash and Mrs. Newpher use their blog to have students respond to posted questions from the teacher. | Mrs. Alsup uses her blog to have students post the writing they have done in Writer's Workshop. | | | | | | This teacher posts assignments and students post their published work including podcasts. | This is a really terrific site with video books, podcasting, wikis, and more. | | | | | | | |
