http://teachersites.schoolworld.com/webpages/TDiNarda/rss/blog_9224.xmlTerri DiNarda Blogen-usSat, 26 Sep 2009 00:32:06 GMTSat, 26 Sep 2009 00:32:06 GMTSchool World<P>First of all, I have to say I love my new class!&nbsp;(If my "old" class is reading, I love you all too, and I miss you.&nbsp; Stop by the say hello!)&nbsp; They are so eager and ready to learn.&nbsp; The first week went very well, although we were exhausted on Friday.&nbsp; Thank goodness for the weekend.&nbsp; I know we will be back on Monday well rested and&nbsp;ready to begin the school routine.</P> <P>If you haven't had a chance to see our new preschool, stop by sometime to take a peek.&nbsp; It is absolutely beautiful.&nbsp; New beginnings are always so exciting.</P> <P>&nbsp;</P> <P>&nbsp;</P> <P>&nbsp;</P><P><STRONG>Happy Birthday Kayla!&nbsp; </STRONG>She was so excited, I just had to mention it.&nbsp; It was a great day today!&nbsp; The kids really impressed me with their reading today.&nbsp; We tried Buddy Reading/explain what you read, and they did great.&nbsp; First we practiced how we sit-EEKK!&nbsp; Elbow, elbow, knee, knee (we have been doing this for a couple of days.)&nbsp; We sit close to one another so we can hear our partner and only our partner.&nbsp; We also practice our voices.&nbsp; If we are sitting close, we can use quiet voices to read.&nbsp; When we read with our buddies, we shouldn't be able to hear anyone else.&nbsp; We are also coaches!&nbsp; A great coach knows when to guide and help their buddy, and when to let our buddy figure it out on his or her own.&nbsp; We discussed three ways of Buddy Reading-choral reading, echo reading, and taking turns.&nbsp; We took turns today.&nbsp; We would follow along as our partner read, and then told our partner what we heard.&nbsp; It was a great way to practice comprehension.&nbsp; </P> <P>Check out our math page to find out what we did in math today-it was alot of fun!&nbsp; </P> <P>Lastly, I hope you enjoyed your "taproot"&nbsp; (carrot.)&nbsp;&nbsp;</P> <P>Hopefully tomorrow will be another great day!&nbsp; </P> <P>&nbsp;</P><P>It was another great day in third grade.&nbsp; No matter how bad my day starts, my class always make me feel better!&nbsp; Thanks for the morning hugs and the compliments ( you know who you are!)&nbsp; You all make my job seem, well, not like a job!&nbsp; </P> <P>Make sure you study for spelling!&nbsp; See you tomorrow!</P> <P>&nbsp;</P>Hello third grade! &nbsp;I hope you have had a chance to explore our website. &nbsp;Keep checking back for news, photos, and games. &nbsp;I can't wait to learn all about you! &nbsp;Liz and Evan, you will be our first! &nbsp;Tell you more about it later!<div><br></div><div>It's a beautiful day, hopefully the rain will hold off, and we will get outside for recess! &nbsp;</div><P>What a beautiful weekend.&nbsp; I was lucky enough to attend the Fairy Ball at Great Trail Girl Scout Camp.&nbsp; I help with my niece's troop, and this was our first time camping.&nbsp; It brought back so many memories.&nbsp; I attended camp with my troop when I was a young girl, as well as spending a week every summer at Great Trail.&nbsp; I was also a leader for my daughter's Kerri troop from Daisies to Cadettes, so it was sentimental to return. </P> <P>I was also reminded what a wonderful organization Girl Scouts is.&nbsp; Thank you to all the leaders, moms, older scouts that helped out, and especially Penny Hewitt who put this camping outing together.&nbsp; I am exhausted today, but it was so much fun.&nbsp;&nbsp; </P> <P>Imagine my surprise (and theirs!) when I saw many of the girls from St. Louis.&nbsp;Check out our pictures on our slide show.&nbsp; </P><P>It was another great day in third grade.&nbsp; I love the enthusiasm of my class.&nbsp; We were a little squirrely today (is that a word?), but that's what makes the day interesting!&nbsp; </P> <P>Happy Birthday, Alexis!&nbsp; I hope you enjoy the weekend!&nbsp; Thank you for the pizza.</P> <P>&nbsp;</P>
