2009-10 Stokes Banking Program
One of the programs offered through Stokes PTA is banking. The purpose of the banking program is to introduce banking to our children and promote good savings habits.
Banking day is every 2 weeks on Wednesdays (the dates are on the district calendar). On banking days, your child is encouraged to bring in his/her bank deposit and a filled out deposit slip to school in the provided envelope. The deposits are handed into your child's teacher who then forwards them to the PTA to be taken to the bank. They will be returned to the chidren by the following Wednesday with a new deposit slip for the next banking day. This is a good way for your children to see how quickly their money accumulates in thier accounts and learn a little about banking. Once again we will be working with TD Bank in Bethpage to hold the accounts.
Exisitng accounts will continue with the same accounts.
New Accounts: TD Bank will hold 2 open houses for the Stokes students on Monday, September 21 and Wednesday, October 7 from 6:30-8:00pm. You can bring your child to open the account so they can see the bank and get the banking experience. TD Bank will deposit $10.00 in every new account opened. Piggy banks, coloring books and crayons are available for the kids when they come in. You will need to bring your child's social security card and the custodian on the accounts will need photo id as well.
