BLITZ INFORMATION
What is the Blitz???
The Blitz is our winter fundraiser that is always held in the month of March. This fundraiser enables the PTA to provide our children with a terrific Cultural Arts program and many other services. It is a cross between Bingo and Pokeno. The prizes are bags of groceries. We also sell raffle tickets where you can win prizes. The categories are as follows:
Orange: Family Fun
Yellow: Gift Certificates
Red: Beauty/Indulgence
Blue: Housewares/small electronics
Pink: Class Baskets
Green: Grand Prizes
50/50: The winner will receive ½ of the 50/50 cash pot that night.
Each person will be able to purchase 2 tickets @ the price of $15 each. All tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis. On the night of the event you will receive a playing board, bottle of water, coffee and dessert. Please feel free to bring your own food to enjoy that night.
Over the next few months, you will be receiving flyers asking for various donations. Here is an example of what to look out for:
CLASS BASKETS
Each class puts together a themed basket to be raffled off @ the Blitz. Your Head Class Parent will be asking for donations for the basket whether it be a monetary donation or something related to your theme. A list of the class baskets are listed below. Keep this in mind as you are doing your holiday shopping.
$5.00 FAMILY DONATION
During the night of the Blitz bags of groceries are won by playing the game. In order to defray the cost of the groceries and to make each bag uniform, we are asking each Stokes family to contribute $5.00. Each grocery bag includes the following items: Paper towels, dish detergent, pasta, canned vegetable, bottle of soda, and coffee. Keep in mind that the donation is per family, not per child.
RAFFLE PRIZE DONATIONS
Many volunteers solicit our local business owners for raffle donations. In addition to this we ask for any individual donations. Check your closets for any NEW/UNUSED gifts that you would be willing to donate. Please ask family and friends if their business or place of employment would be willing to make a donation. In the past some donations we received have been used as Grand Prizes, some examples of these include: LCD TV, I-POD, PSP, Yankee and Mets Tickets and Woodloch Pines just to name a few. We hope to continue this tradition with your help.
VOLUNTEERS
We will be asking for many volunteers over the next few months, there is a job for everyone and remember VOLUNTEERS are GUARANTEED a ticket. Volunteers are the most important part of this fundraiser. We need the support of all of our Stokes families. Without your help, we would not be able to do this for our children. Remember to come to our monthly Blitz meetings @ 7pm prior to our regular PTA meeting. Keep in mind that all Volunteers must pay for their tickets.
