Accelerated Reader At Woodrow Wilson Elementary, we have a special program called Accelerated Reader (AR). It is a program to help students learn to read properly right from the start. They are encouraged to read carefully so they understand and can remember what they have read. Students choose books from our library, the public library, the classroom libraries, or their own collection at home that are on the Woodrow Wilson AR list. Students can take quizzes in their classroom, the media center or come down to the CCC Lab! Encourage your children to get involved in the AR program, it's a lot of fun! Woodrow Wilson's goal for each student grades 1-4, is to read 2 AR books a month. They do not have to score 100% to have the quiz count toward their goals. It is more important that they pick books that are appropriate to their reading level and that they enjoy reading them. This along with good reading habits is what the AR program is all about. Each student that meet their goals will earn a cerificate and be invited to attend the 9 week AR Party.
