Computer Curriculum Corporation (CCC)  Successmaker concentrates on math and reading. There is one math program that spans K-4th grade. The reading program uses separate programs to teach a child from K-4th grade. CCC builds its reading program (as a teacher teaches a child learns) in steps.


Reading Readiness (Kinders and 1st Grade) (0.00-0.99)

Letter Indentification: Upper and lowercase.

Visual Discrimination: Discriminating different objects and letters.

Auditory Discrimination: Auditory discrimination between different and similar beginning and ending consonant sounds.

Vocabulary Building: Identifying pictures to match words and concepts.

Comprehension Skills: Understanding major details of a story read aloud.

After a student reaches .99, they will graduate to Initial Reading.


Initial Reading - (1.00-2.99)

Letter Identification: Reinforces letter recognition and discrimination skills.

Patterns: builds student's word attack skills through phonics and analysis of words.

Sight Words: Increase student's ability to read words at sight.

Word Comprehension: Develops knowledge of the meanings and relationships of words, antonyms, and synonyms.

Sentence Comprehension: Focuses on understanding sentences.

Passage Comprehension: Not introduced until an adequate sight vocabulary in mastered.

At 2.99 in Inital Reading, the students are advanced to Reader's Workshop.


Reader's Workshop (2.8-7.40)

Math Concepts and Skills (0.0 and up)

Aids in the development and maintenance of essential concepts, strategies, and skills of K-4 mathematics. Math Concepts and Skills is a comprehensive course that develops and maintains the key strategies, concepts, and skills of K-4 mathematics. It is a substantial course that covers over 1,650 content objectives through a highly diverse collection of interactive exercises. The course provides guided instruction plus layers of automatic support to detect student needs and respond with appropriate information.


Reading Adventures (Grades 3-4) (3.5 - up)

Develops and integrates reading and writing skills, using award-winning multicultural literature. Reading Adventures includes more than 100 award-winning, multicultural titles, with selections from some of the most well-known children's authors, including Arnold Lobel, Eloise Greenfield, and Beverly Cleary. Reading Adventures uses a literature-based approach to integrate reading and writing. The course combines audio, graphics, animation, and full-motion video to help students experience literature beyond the pages of a book.
