My Comments- When I started reading this book, I couldn’t stop reading the book. You will become another character in the book. Also you will get too attached with the book. I loved this book. When I was reading it felt like I was the main character. I reacted shocked to one part of the book. The rest I was fascinated but the most dramatic parts. Jackie and Me by Dan Guttman Reviewed by: Branden G This book is non-fiction because it is about Jackie Robinson playing baseball and Africa American troubles during the 40`s. The copyright is 1999 and the setting is in I loved this book because, I love sport history and Jackie is one of the greatest players in history. He changed how we play the game today. It’s not all about him it’s about the rights for blacks. This book inspired me to be a hero and to make a difference in sports and not to quit! Jackie knew he could have been murdered play but he didn’t back down. He was a fearless fighter. I recommend this for athletes that want to settle down and read a little book and for kids that like sport history. Especially for Dodger fans! I need to know what will happen next. If you think this book is to long, its not. Once I got into it I could not stop. I had some strong emotions during this book. I would definitely recommend this book to girls. But mostly girls who are going through so much drama. This is definitely not a book for boys. She is about my age and is very popular until she has to move to a different school. Once she moves to that new school, she gets teased by a girl named Mary Ellen McGinty. The school she went to now wasn’t working as she thought it would. On her fourth day of school, there was an assembly about the Arbor Day fundraiser where they plant trees on some random weekend or a school day.But when Cassie came up with the idea of an Arbor Day Fashion Show, everybody became jealous. When sign-ups were at lunch, one of Mary Ellen’s friends signed up to participate. She also met a girl named Etoile to help her out. When sign-ups were over and all of the fashion show crew was rehearsing Mary Ellen became even more jealous of her! When the day of the Fashion Show came, and everything was set up and ready, Cassie was surprised at how great of a job the crew did. When the fashion show was taking place, Mary Ellen wasn’t jealous anymore because she finally knew what Cassie’s personality was like. When the fashion was over and when the audience was applauding, Mary Ellen went up on stage and congratulated Cassie and the crew on all the hard work it took to put together this fantastic fashion show!! I liked this book because it was really my type and I understood it very well. I recommend this to girls that are really into fashion shows and the latest fashion trends because that’s what Cassie Cyan Knight was all about until she had to move to Lucky T by Kate Brian Reviewed by: Erin J Carrie Fitzgerald has all the luck but when her mother accidentally gives away her lucky tee shirt to a charity group in This book was very interesting I really enjoyed reading it. I do agree with the authors message. I think the message is people can change. Maniac McGee by Jerry Spinelli Reviewed by: Nicholas P Word of Advice: This book is aged 8+ may contain emotional moments and requires good comprehension skills. This book is about a 12 year old boy how runs away and catches audiences awes by doing athletic, heroic, and things people thought no one could do. They say he was born in a dump, with a cereal box for a stomach, and a sofa spring for a heart. But actually he’s just a scruffy 12 year old kid wandering around into Two Mills and Maximum Ride the Angel Experiment by James Patterson Reviewed by: Mackenzie A This book is about how these six kids are running for there life because they are being chases by Erasers. The kids are human-bird hybrids which mean they have wings which means they can fly. Erasers are human-wolf hybrids which mean they are human but can morph into wolves. The main idea of this book is to get Angel back from The School. At the school there doing experiments on Angel. She is the youngest human-bird hybrid out of all of them. So Max, Iggy, Fang, Nudge, and Gazzy set out to find Angel. My reaction to the book was that it was my favorite book I have read in my whole life. This is one of those books that ounce you start reading them you can’t stop. It has a lot of climaxes in it all throughout the story so it’s really interesting all the time. I thought that this was a funny book but at some parts it can be serious so there’s a mixture of emotions while you read this book. I would recommend this book to any one who likes series books and also funny ones. This is the first book out of four the first one is Maximum Ride: the Angel Experiment. The second one is Maximum Ride: Schools out Forever. The third one is Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports. The last one is Maximum Ride: The Final Warning. I think this would be a good book for anyone from fifth grade to ninth grade. Mixed Up Doubles by Elena Yates Reviewed by: Kyle G Two brothers Jerome and then there is Hank the main character, Hank and Jerome both have good grades in school and have friends, and a lot more. The one bad thing is that the boys don’t get along good with each other and they never did. Rather they both never knew was that they both had love for the game of tennis and where both first-class at it, especially Jerome. Hank eventually discovers that they both love tennis. They then find time in there busy schedules to practice together. After months of practicing and training together they enter a tournament. Therefore maybe tennis may change the boy’s relationship for life, or just add to the troubles that face them both? I think Mixed Up- Doubles is a very interesting book because it has some amusing parts some daunting parts and some very severe sections of the book. The author’s message is to try out different things and maybe they might change your life or another’s without you knowing it. In conclusion, I recommend the book to anyone that likes to read a suspenseful book, but specifically tennis player at any gender or period in life. Once Upon a Curse by E.D. When Pagan signs up to become a scribe he is handed over to Lord Roland Roucy de Bram, the beloved French Templar knight. Pagan learns that his new job can be a bore, escorting pilgrims to and from “Well sir- The most dangerous brigand is probably one that’s still alive.” I loved Pagan’s rude remarks and outlook on life! Remember, it’s difficult to come across a humorous historical fiction. I agree with all of the statements and the theme. Roland and Pagan’s friendship is a good influence on us. This book is great for someone who likes a little bit of humor from time to time; I know it got a laugh or two out of me.
