Reading:  The novel must be read by Wednesday, November 18.  (This is a date change!)

Creative Folder Project:  

The folder is due in class Tuesday, Nov. 24, before Thanksgiving.

Monday:  Vocabulary unit 7 Word 4

Lesson:  Students will finish reading the radio play, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

Homework:   Continue reading the novel you have selected.

Tuesday: Vocabulary unit 7 Word 5

Lesson:  

Students will compare and contrast The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

and the ballad "The Highwayman" using a Venn diagram.  

Homework:   

Finish the novel you have selected tonight.

Bring your novels to class all week.  

(If you will not be here next week, see Mrs. Pod today or Tuesday for an alternate assignment.)

Wednesday:  Vocabulary unit 8 Word 1 (HV: Begin unit 5.)

Lesson:   

Students will write the ending of the novel they have chosen.  This is book

check #3.  Afterwards, the novel folder project will be explained, directions

distributed, and models shown.

Homework:   Work on the inside cover of the folder project.

Thursday: Vocabulary unit 8 Word 2

Lesson:

Students will type their plot summaries 10 - 15 sentences without giving away

the ending.  (The ending was written for Mrs. Pod in check # 3.)  The final

paragraph of the summary will include a review.  Why did you or didn't you

like the novel.  Report to the HS computer lab.

Homework:  Finish work on the inside cover for the folder project.

Friday: Vocabulary unit 8 Word 3

Lesson:  

Students will work on their novel folder projects in the HS computer lab.

Homework:

Begin work on the back cover for the folder project.

Monday: Vocabulary unit 8 Word 4

Lesson:

Students will work on their novel folder projects for periods 2-4 in the MS

computer lab and period 7 will work in the HS computer lab.

Homework:    Finish the novel folder project tonight.

Tuesday: Vocabulary unit 8 Word 5 (HV: Finish unit 5.)

Lesson:  

The folders will be assembled, and if time allows, shared with their peers.

(I have glue sticks for the assembly of the folder project.)

Homework:    

If your novel folder project is done, you have no homework.  

Enjoy the time with your family.  **Projects turned in after Thanksgiving are late.

Next week in English class, students will complete their creative 

novel folder projects based on their books.  Some work will be done at home, and 

some work will be completed in the computer room at school.
