Write a summary about the middle of the novel that you selected. 

Finish rhyme  scheme and review definitions for figurative language 

used in “The Bat” and“The Highwayman.”  “The Bat” quiz is tomorrow.

Homework:    

1. Continue reading the novel you selected.

2. “The Bat” quiz will be given Tuesday.  Review figurative language notes 

on the back of L21, L25, and the bottom of “The Highwayman” for the quiz.

Next week in English class, students will finish the radio play, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, adapted from the short story written by Washington Irving.  Afterwards, students will compare and contrast The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the ballad “The Highwayman” using a Venn diagram.  At home, students should read the novels they selected.  Novels must be read by Wednesday, November 18.  (Please note this is two days later than originally planned.)  Afterwards, students will complete creative projects based on their books.
