Laura Marks Honored by KJOY

Dear Island Trees Community,
 
We are pleased to announce that an Island Trees teacher was honored by KJOY radio for her tireless and dedicated service to our school community. Ms. Laura Marks, a third grade teacher at J. Fred Sparke Elementary School in Island Trees, was honored as part of KJOY's "Teacher Feature."  The radio station, KJOY, accepts nominations for outstanding teachers who make a difference in children's lives.
Ms. Marks was nominated by, not one, but two of her former students and their families - Nikolas Arsenault and Jordan Miller.  Based on those nominations, KJOY selected Ms. Marks as one of its honorees.  Ms. Marks was interviewed by KJOY's Steve Harper; the interview will air on Monday, November 2, 2009.

We are so proud to have Ms. Marks as part of our Island Trees team.
