The seventh graders are currently reading The Outsiders, and the culminating event for the book will be the creation of a front page of a newspaper with stories about the plot events of Hinton's classic. Connecting to this activity, Chris Speckman, a St. Barnabas graduate, was a guest speaker on Thursday (Nov.20). Chris is a journalist, and he taught the students about the structure of writing newspaper stories, the types of news articles, and the layout of a front page. Chris also answered questions about journalism.

I have throughly enjoyed listening to the persuasive speeches presented by the seventh graders! They have all be very well prepared.

 The November project is our annual canned food drive. The seventh grade is doing a great job bringing in cans!!
