Happy Holidays Everybody!

         This is the time of year that we all reflect on what we are thankful for and what makes us happy.  I am thankful for my career as a teacher and coming to work everyday with all of your children makes me happy.  I am proud to say that during my second year of teaching, I met the cutest little first grader ever at Emma E. Booker.  He was in my first and second grade class and, although we was quiet, he managed to win every Accelerated Reader contest I had.  I had no idea that a few years later our relationship was going to become that of a mother and a son.  When he got to middle school, he needed a little extra support and gave me a call.  We have been together ever since.   I am proud to announce that on December 16, 2011- He will be graduating from Florida A and M University!! 

     I can not wait to go up to Tallahassee and cheer him on at graduation.  I only regret that his biological mother will not be able to make the trip with us.  Remember during this time of year to cheerish what you have and hug the people that you love.  We should all remember that families don't have to be only blood, they are shaped by love.
