This week in Language Arts, we will be learning the sound of long o spelled o_e in words with such as cone and those. We will have 10 new spelling words and 7 new vocab words. Please continue to study these words nightly with your child. Our story this week is a non-fiction story called Busy Buzzy Bee. There is an AR test over this story.

In Math, we will begin Chapter 22 on money. We will be counting pennies, nickels, and dimes this week. This is a great opportunity to incorporate math into your child's everyday life! Gather a group of coins and have your child practice counting! We will continue with timed tests this week as well. We will have a timed test on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. Students are going to be moving on at different paces from now on. Once they pass a certain number, they will move onto the next number. Their timed test will tell them what number to study next. If they are taking the big test with 36 problems, they will get more than three tries to complete it. 

In Writer's Workshop, we will finish our poetry boards. We will get to share them this week before Spring break!

In Religion, we will begin Chapter 6 on baptism.
