A St. Francis alum from a family of educators and artists, I have taught both history and English for a good while now.  All my students, colleagues, and friends will attest to my insatiable curiosity in all things British and Irish, in accents and punk rock.  

In the eighties, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Woodberry Forest School in Virginia and then earned a B.A. in English from The University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.  My junior year was filled with soggy chips, football chants, and the impenetrable gray of Manchester, England, where the footy and music are the only routes of escape.  An interest in the Northern Ireland Troubles brought me back across the water on many occasions, and during a sabbatical from Louisville Collegiate, I completed a masters in Irish history at Queen’s University Belfast.   Before joining the St. Francis faculty, I also taught composition at the University of Louisville and served as museum educator for The Portland Museum and The Filson Historical Society. 

Mi esposa, Sra. Enseñat, es una Cubana múy bella y una maestra super-buena de español. Somos fanaticos del Fútbol Club Barcelona, la Blaugrana de Catalunya (Més que un club).  We live in a noisy and noisome bungalow in Crescent Hill with our two children, Lorenzo Miguel and Mónica Graciela, who both attend St. Francis (thank the gods).
