A Look at the Month of November A Look at the Month of November

 On this page you can find what we will be working on during the current month.  Some catagories will list everything covered so far with the current additions at the end ( i.e. letters, sounds, star words).

 

In November some of our main areas to focus on will be:

*Become more independent in the classroom/responsible for classroom procedures (Calendar, M.I.C.E. Binders, centers, etc.)

*Work toward more responsibility for own behavior and the consequences (Apple Chart)

*Introduction of letters Gg, Hh, Ii, Oo their sounds and the Visual Phonics hand signals

*Introduction of color words - Orange, Black, Green

*Learn and practice printing first name correctly - First letter is a capital and the remainder are lower case letters

*Counting: 0-12 and 12-0

*Practice several patterns - ABAB, AABB, AAB, and ABB

 

*God's gifts of Light, Water, Land, Animals

*Angel of God prayer

 

 

Practice At Home- updated for November

Letters, Sounds and Visual Phonics Hand Signals: M, F, A, S, I, O, H, G, X, P

Practice printing first name correctly

Counting to 12 and back to 0

Recognize numbers 0-12

Star Words introduced:       I, a, see, can, the, we, is, it,

                                               red, yellow,orange, black, brown

Patterns:      ABAB (example - apple, bus, apple, bus)

                     AABB (example - square, square, circle, circle)

                     ABB (example - blue, red, red)

                     AAB (example - blue, blue, red)

Sorting:        By size, color, type of object (all spoons together, all forks together, etc)  

Continue practicing:   Address, Phone #, shoe tying, birthday          

                  

 

Thank you so much for any help you give your child at home.  It helps Kinders feel more successful at school when they have practiced at home.
