The Deep

Students will spend a couple days each week entering "The Deep" and intensively exploring topics related to their faith.  Students will use a thematic approach, technology, or literature to explore issues of faith and living.  Please click on the links below to find out more about the units students will explore.

• 1st Quarter:  Students will work on becoming evangelizers of the Good News by working in groups to create short movies, podcasts, and print reflections on assigned Sunday Scripture passages.
  
• 2nd Quarter:  Students will study morality and the life issues connected to morality in an effort to learn more about the reasons why Catholics respect life from the womb to natural death.
  
• 3rd Quarter:  Students will work to create their own businesses to market and sell products for the Mardi Gras Marketplace.  7th graders will focus on advertising and media awareness while 8th graders will focus on the Eucharist. 
  
• 4th Quarter:  Students will learn more about the role of faith in confronting and dealing with discrimination and prejudice.  Students will take a closer look at specific cultures and religions to gain a better understanding of other people.
