| Have a safe and enjoyable summer! *During the school year, TAG newsletters are sent home with students monthly and TAG progress reports are sent home with your child's nine week report cards, as per district policy. Click on the My Calendar tab for future distribution dates. If you ever have any concerns or questions regarding the program or your child's progress, please contact Mrs. McKee as soon as possible. Open communication between student, teacher, and parent is important and encouraged throughout the school year and is vital in ensuring your child's success at school and in the TAG program. | |
Our Mission at Bluebonnet Elementary: To understand the nature and needs of talented and gifted students and establish an environment that will encourage and challenge them to excel to the fullest extent of their abilities. To provide an ongoing identification process of screening and selecting students in grades K-5.
State Goal for Services for Gifted Students:
Students who participate in services designed for gifted students will demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research, and communication as evidenced by the development of innovative products and performances that reflect individuality and creativity and are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience, or environment.
State Definition of Giftedness:
Gifted and Talented students means a child or youth who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment and who:
v Exhibits high performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area;
v Possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or
v Excels in a specific academic field
