| About the Program: Acceleration Station is a pull-out academic enrichment program for high-ability first and second grade students. These students qualify for the program based on a set criteria. The students meet in small groups to complete critical and creative thinking activities and projects. The GT facilitator observes the students to see if they exhibit gifted characteristics. If so, the facilitator and the regular classroom teacher discuss referring the student for gifted and talented testing. Students who are tested, and identified as gifted, receive services through the TAG (Talented and Gifted) program on their campus. |
