MathCounts is hosting a Math Week at WPI this summer, August 10-14.

This summer day program offered from 9:00am-12:30pm focuses on introducing talented middle school students in mathematics to successful MATHCOUNTS® problem-solving techniques.August 10-14 | Audience: Students entering grades 6-8. Program Fee: $150

Mathletes,

Math Team is for anyone grade 6th through 8th who enjoys solving math problems and wants to interact with other students with similar interests.  Students may participate in all (or some) scheduled events depending on individual constraints.

We hope to arrange a few "field trips' for the mathletes to places of interest such as WPI, manufacturing plants,  labs, or other engineering (math & science) related locations.

For SY 2008 - 2009

Practices are Monday after school, Room 200.

Competitions / Events:

October 20th, Monday - at Paxton

October 28th, Tuesday -- at Saint Johns Mountview placed 3rd among 20 teams (350 competitors)

December 8th, Monday - at Princeton (snow date - 15th) Two Mountview 6th graders and one Mountview 7th grader tied for first place in their respective grades.  Specific Mountview Teams placed second and third in the district. 

January 12th, Monday - at Rutland (snow date - 26th)

January 26th, Monday -- Field Trip to WPI, Worcester MA

February 2nd, Wednesday -- Worcester County MathCounts at Oak Middle in Shrewsbury  (Top 8 mathletes)

March 16th, Monday - at Sterling Changed due to after school teacher's meeting on March 9th - district wide.  There'll still be a practice Monday March 9th -- probably shorten.

April 16th, Thursday -- at Saint Johns

May 7th -- WPI Undergraduate NASA Project Presentation; at MTV, 3:00PM, Rm 200

May 11th, Monday - at Holden
