Kelly Stevenson
Kelly Stevenson has been teaching at St. Francis for 12 years now, though her relationship with the school began many years earlier. She graduated from St. Francis in 1984 and went on to St. Francis High School. After that, she went to Earlham College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Biology in 1992. She furthered her biology education at U of L, from which she received an MS in Biology (and Phi Kappa Phi honors) three years later. Years spent as a student, a teaching assistant and a part-time teacher at St. Francis High School clarified what she wanted to do with her life: TEACH! In the fall of 1995, she began teaching full-time at St. Francis in Goshen. Soon after, she started working on a Masters in the Art of Teaching degree at Bellarmine University. She graduated in 2000 certified to teach Kindergarten-5th grade.
During her time at St. Francis, Kelly has taught science and Spanish at a variety of grade levels. Most of her teaching has focused on the Lower School, which is where she continues to spend most of her time. This year, she will be teaching Spanish to some seventh graders in addition to all first and third grade science. She also begins a new job as environmental coordinator for St. Francis. This job will see her continuing to work with the Children's Garden as well as helping coordinate the environmental mission for the whole school. She is looking forward to this new adventure.
