Coach Whittern is a graduate of Mustang High School. While he was in High School he was an honor student as well as an athlete and lettered in Basketball & Baseball. An injury forced him out of college athletics. He attended College at Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a B.A. in Social Sciences. He has been married now for 10 years, has 2 girls, Haley who is 6 yrs old and Sophie, 2yr old.

Basketball: Coach Whittern has been a Head Basketball Coach now for 8 years. One year as Freshman Head Coach, 4 years as Head 8th grade girls and 3 years as Head 8th grade Boys. His teams have won 4 Conference Championships and has a combined record of 120-40
Baseball: Coach Whittern coached 11 years in the Baseball program here at Mustang High School from Assistant Varsity Coach to Head Freshman and J.V. coach, and has a combined record as a Head Coach of 191-98.
Golf: 2 years as the Assistant High School Girls Golf Coach / Head J.V. & Freshman. As Head Coach for the J.V. & Freshman teams, his girls combined to win a total of 5 Tournaments.
Football: 2 years as an Assistant Coach for 8th grade. Defensive Coordinator for one year and Offensive Coordinator for the other.
