Economics Class Info and (Notes at bottom of Page) Take your time looking around, I hope you find the information provided on this page to be eye opening and thought provoking!! Do you know how much your share of our National Debt is? If you are a concerned citizen of the U.S. please take time to read this!!! No Political Bias here.... Just the plain cold hard truth!!! We know that the federal government carries both publicly held debt and debt for money it has borrowed from itself. Together, these sums are upwards of $15+ trillion. This is the figure most commonly cited as our "national debt," but actually, that's only the start of the REAL national debt. The Real National Debt of our Nation is 115+ Trillion ... So where does the remaining $100 trillion or so come from? That's what the government has promised to pay in Social Security and Medicare benefits in excess of related revenues. Future Social Security 12,700,000,000,000 Future Medicare Benefits 79,200,000,000,000 Publicly held debt, civilian and military retirement benefits, other liabilities and miscellaneous exposures 20,500,000,000,000 This equals up to roughly 115 Trillion Dollars!!! Each persons share of this $200,000+ Per Household $500,000+ ** If you would like further information on this subject and others concerning our future, please visit http://www.pgpf.org/resources/PGPF_CitizensGuide_2009.pdf Source: 2008 Federal Report of the U.S. Govt. I had several parents tell me that it wasn't printing off properly so I copied and pasted the Powerpoint notes onto Microsoft Word. I hope this helps. The Microsoft Documents will have Doc. at the end of the link. It may not be properly formatted, but like I said, all I did was copy and paste the powerpoints to word. Through Powerpoint, you can see the videos clips that we watch in class.
