One Thousand Page Book Club

 1,000 Page Book Club

The goal of the 1,000 Page Book Club is for each student to read at least 250 pages per marking period independently.  In this way, each student will have read 1,000 pages by the end of the school year.  After achieving the 1,000 pages the student will receive a $5 Borders Books Gift Card. (click to see the students who have successfully read 1,000 pages)

Rules:

1.  Only books read this school year will count.

2.  If a student started a book over the summer and has not finished it, the student may finish reading the book and count it (but only one book may be done this way.

3.  Books from previous years may not be re-read.

4.  Books read to the students by a teacher or assigned for class reading will not count.

5.  An index card must be filled out for each book read, and the index card must be placed in the container on Mr. S's desk

 

All index cards must include the following:

1.  Book title underlined.

2.  Author's name

3.  Short description (summary) of the book including the part of the book that you enjoyed the most.

4.  Student's name and signature

5.  Parent's signature

6.  Number of pages
