Earth Day PowerPoint Projects

After reading the theme "A Changing Planet" in our Trophies Language Arts books we discussed many of the current hot topics in today's media, mainly global warming and problems that the Earth is currently facing that are changing or may be changing our planet, and putting it on a disasterous environmental course.  We learned about changes in the Everglades ecosystem in Florida, and environmental issues that are changing our oceans while causing higher seas that are displacing many people from their homes especially in the poorest regions of the world.  We read and watched documentary footage about the effects of forest fires on our forest ecosystems, and finally we had a view from outer space through the use of satellite images that clearly show certain parts of our planet have changed and have been negatively affected by all of the issues that we studied.  For our end of unit project that coincided with Earth Day we created PowerPoint Presentations entitled "10 Ways to Help the Earth"
