Teacher Bio

I am an 8th grade homeroom teacher at First Lutheran School of Torrance, CA. I teach Middle School Language Arts (7th and 8th grade), 8B Religion, and Middle School Art. This year marks the sixth year that I have been teaching Language Arts at First Lutheran School.  I began working at First Lutheran School in 1993 as an assistant teacher in the Early Education Center. From 1995 to 2004, I served as a Daycare Supervisor for the school's extended daycare program.

I received my B.A. Degree in Literature and my Single-subject Teaching Credential from California State University Dominguez Hills. I am also member of the Sarah D. Barder (SDB) Fellowship, Class of 2005, with Johns Hopkins University (http://cty.jhu.edu/sdb).

I live in Carson, CA with my wife and two daughters, both who attend First Lutheran School.
