We are grateful to Merritt College Vice President of Instruction, Linda Berry, and to Merritt's Dean of Business, Science, and Vocational Programs, Rebecca Kenney. Through this exciting partnership with Merritt, students participating in the Concurrent Enrollment Program on our campus take a variety of enrichment courses. Each course provides our high school students with the unique opportunity to earn college credit in grades 9-12.

Our Business Entrepreneurial School of Technology includes an emphasis in science technology, so we are especially excited about our partnership with Merritt. Our students have the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge studies and research that will impact all of our lives.

"We are beginning programs in genomics and microscopy, and have business and insurance courses available as well as well that might interest your students," Linda Berry shared as she arranged for the first U.C./CSU transferable courses on our campus.

This year BEST students completed Merritt's COLLEGE SUCCESS course, taught by Merritt College professor Carlos McClean, The course focused on High-performance learning: Information organization, critical-thinking skills, time management, learning strategies, memory theory, and goal setting. Students who successfully complete this course will earn 3 U.C. CSU transferable units.

BEST Students are currently taking Business 10 and Human Relations in Business through our partnership with Merritt. Both courses are taught by Professor Ken Smith and meet during Advisory classes( Monday and Wednesday)  and on Wednesdays after school. Students who successfully complete these courses will earn 3 U.C. CSU transferable units for each course as well as AP weighted credit on their transcripts.
Subsequent Courses in Human Psychology, Business Law, Career and Life Planning, Human Relations in Business, and many others will follow.
