Renee Hennessy
RENEE HENNESSY, Twos Lead Teacher “Education is not something which the teacher does…it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being”. Maria Montessori Renee is originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee where she attended Oakland High School graduating with honors. Renee moved to Louisville, KY in 1993 to attend the University of Louisville and pursue a degree in social services. Renee first discovered her love and gift for working with young children at Highland Community Ministries working with two and three year olds. Renee began her career at St. Francis Preschool at it’s inception in 1995, working as an assistant in various classes while she continued her education. Renee graduated from the University of Louisville Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology and also earning a Minor in Anthropology. Upon graduation she accepted a full-time position with Seven Counties Services working as a Rehabilitation Employment Counselor. Renee assisted individuals with disabilities in their endeavors to achieve independence. In 2003 she was blessed with the birth of her son Caleb and realized how much she missed St. Francis and was quickly drawn back to her work with the children where she is currently in her twelfth year. Renee is very active with her church, Our Lady of Lourdes, where she volunteers in many areas and is a vital part of the RCIA Program. An active part of the community, Renee volunteers her time with organizations such as St. Vincent De Paul Mission and St. Joseph’s Orphanage. Renee is a true kindred spirit with the children in her ability to truly connect with the children with whom she works, bringing a smile to all of their faces. Renee enjoys reading, live music, nature walks, and most of all spending time with her family.
