Team Lynx Leadership Yields New Experiences! So why the name Lynx? We decided that our students should receive the best education and be given the best opportunities to expand their learning. We felt that the term links worked, but wanted an animal logo that was in the cat family...hence, the lynx! 
Our team operates as all teams in the Middle School. We are a team family and hope to create a safe, secure, learning environment in which all students succeed. We want to provide the best and most motivating opportunities for the students in the academic world. In the Social Studies classroom, I hold high expectations of all students. I want to make sure that each student succeeds and becomes a socially responsible individual in the classroom and the real world. This year Social Studies will focus on American History. I expect that from our units of study, the students will gain an understanding of citizenship and the lessons learned through the struggles that the nation endured during the American Revolution and the Civil War. I value the lost stories of those times and the forgotten voices of the Native Americans, the African American Slaves, and the women. My hope is to bring those forgotten voices alive during the year as we journey through America's history! Welcome to Eighth Grade Social Studies with Mrs. Peters!
