Born, raised and educated in Illinois (Bachelor of Science from Bradley University), I began my career teaching mathematics at Ferndale High School in 1973. With a desire to assist students in dealing with personal issues, I earned my Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Oakland University and soon after, joined the Counseling Department at Ferndale High School. I am now the department chairperson.
During my tenure at Ferndale High School, I have been a co-advisor of the United Student Assembly, advisor to Teen Court, co-chair of the North Central Association Committees and a member of the Oakland Counselor Association. In 2005 I was honored with the Oakland County Counselor of the Year award. Working with students in and out of school has always been very important to me. They have enriched my life enormously. I strive to be their advocate and their biggest cheerleader.
