I have two degrees from Wayne State University. My bachelor’s degree is in elementary education, and my master’s degree is in counseling. After receiving my bachelors, I went back to school to get an endorsement in secondary education. I also completed an 800 hour internship, so that I could become a licensed counselor with the State of Michigan.
When I first started out, I taught adult education. Then I taught English as a Second Language in many districts. I taught sewing and cooking as well. My first year in Ferndale was at Lincoln Junior High. The following year I transferred to Wilson Elementary School. I stayed at Wilson for the next 17 years, teaching 5th and 6th grades, and enjoyed every minute of it.
This will be my 9th year as a guidance counselor. My first two years I was a counselor in the middle school. My years as a counselor have been great. Every year brings new challenges, and new adventures. My passion is helping others achieve and prosper.
