Standards define good practice related to professional learning. Learning Forward (formerly National Development Council created the first standards over a decade ago. New York State adopted standards for professional development in 2009. Learning Forward revised these standards in 2011. Here is link to information on the national standards from the Learning Forward website. Learning Forward New York has created a crosswalk to show where there are similarity and differences in the current state standards and the new national standards.
