Whenever a group of educators come together as a community to learn, a kind of magic happens.  It is so sensational to feel the power of like-minded individuals coming together for a common purpose and learning from one another.  National Staff Development Council (NSDC) urges us us to be committed to the vision of results-driven, standards-based, and job-embedded staff development for all and working to realize the NSDC goal:  Every educator engages in effective professional learning every day so every student achieves.   NYSSDC is committed to taking the  lead in making this happen across New York State. Join us in spreading the word and sharing best practices. Take an active role in NYSSDC.

I urge you to reflect on what you know about high quality professional learning and the mission of NSDC and encourage you to: Just do it!  You know what to do and how to do it!  The time is now!  The urgency is here!  Tell everyone that you can!  Use your circle of influence!  We must commit to doing whatever we have to do to create meaningful job embedded professional learning within our own organizations.  No more “adult pull-out programs!”  Don’t get distracted.  Stay focused on the mission, “Every educator engages in effective professional learning every day so every student achieves.”
