RACHEL'S CHALLENGE

Nassakeag is accepting the challenge.....Rachel's Challenge!  In November our school started participating in Rachel's Challenge.  RC is a world renowned character education, bully prevention program.  On November 16, 2010 our third through sixth grade students participated in a kickoff assembly of Rachel's Challenge.  In the program, the students learned of the five "challenges" of RC.

              1. Choose positive influences

              2. Goal setting

              3. Journaling

              4. Acceptance of others

              5. Kindness and compassion

Nassakeag as a whole is accepting these challenges in the interest of creating a culture of caring and compassion in our school.  In the coming months the staff will be incorporating these goals into our school environment.  The PTA will be offering a before school KC (kindness and compassion) club for first and second grade students.  Lastly, we are starting a chain of kindness and compassion by linking our classes together with a paper chain.  If you would like more information regarding this exciting program check out www.rachelschallenge.org and click on the elementary program link.
