Homework: Ask the students to hand in their exercise books (cuadernos) at the start of the class. Request that a student go around and collect all of them. Please do not accept any of them at the end of class. Near the filing cabinet there are some boxes. Have the student put the exercise books in there.
1.) Have the students complete the following exercises in their textbook orally. pages 66 and 67 in the Dime Dos textbook. Ex. D. E.F G.H. (Request that students do the even numbers of the exercises) Have the students work in partners. The grammar has been explained several times, and the students have done the work in written form in their exercise books. If you are a Spanish teacher, then circulate, and offer help where needed. If you are not, then please circulate, and ensure that students doing the work that you have requested. Do not allow students to complete work from other classes. 2.) For the second part of the class, have the students complete work from the G section (at the back of their textbook). Page G23 Ex. a.b.c. even numbers. G24 Ex. ch. even numbers. Page G26 ex. b.c.ch. even numbers. Request that the students work individually and quietly for the second part of the class. French 9 – Blocks B/C/D
Homework: Study next ten words from vocabulary for Unit Two. Quiz postponed until next day, Friday, January 19.
1) Ask students to take out their vocabulary list for Unit Two, from the package called Unité Deux – Aventures en plein air. Review the words from page 23, Les excursions for pronunciation, having the students repeat after you. Then go over the adjectives from Pour décrire les excursions… in the same manner. Have the students take out their agendas and have them write down that they will be given a quiz on the words assigned for today, and next day. Emphasize this several times. 2) The students will have written work to complete for their projects as they will be presenting on Friday and Tuesday. I will move the presentations to Tuesday and Thursday of next week. The students may work in partners, or individually. Please circulate in the class, and offer help where needed. Vocabulary or expressions for the project are found in the vocabulary list from Unit One: all students have a copy of this. If students ask you how to express a particular thing in French, first check this list with the student. The idea is to have them use the vocabulary they have learned from the unit as much as possible. Of course, if the word needed is not found here, then suggest something else. Just as with the Spanish class, please ensure that students are not doing work from other classes. Students have lots of work to complete for French 9 and it is understandable that this class is to be used for that purpose.
Homework: Study the words that were going to be on today’s quiz, from Les activités, and Les excursions. Study the 10 words from Pour décrire les excursions. Poster, and written paragraphs and summaries due Friday. (Empasize this last point).
