Rules for writing quiz – All books on the floor, all books closed, all books behind them or in front of them. Some students might try to “help” themselves, but insist on rules and quiet during quiz taking. We have been practicing these questions for weeks, and students are well familiar with them. Some of them will have more challenges than others do complete this. 2) Correction of in-class composition and take home composition. Hand out the assignments and the photocopied lined paper. Students may use dictionaries, but may not talk to their classmates during this work. Work is to be DOUBLE-SPACED. PLEASE EMPASIZE THIS.!!! They are to finish the two compositions in class, and hand back the corrected work. All of this work will be checked and corrected; the assignments go into my filing cabinet. 3) Review all written work in the cuaderno, and if there is time, read through pages 4 to 9 in the textbook, you reading and translating some sentences, and then you doing the same, checking for pronunciation and comprehension. Ability is this is very varied, so please help as much as you can with those who have the greatest difficulty. 4) Worksheet for Vocabulary – Nouns “Food to Leisure Activities” – Start in class and assign Exercises 1 – 10 – instructions are on the sheet. Chairs are to be put in the back of the room. Please clean and erase writing on white board. Day Two French 9 2 -1 Homework Due: Written Homework – 3 sheets – 1) From package aventures en plein air – page 169, last page in booklet – write in the correct noun and matching indefinite article 2) From worksheet/practice quiz, translate each noun from English to French, and include the correct definite article 3) Sentences in the comparative – identify the errors in the sentences, and rewrite the correct sentences on the line below – Do a homework check – Students know the routine – homework on the desk by the second bell, everything else on the floor including pens and pencils – they may talk quietly, mark homework for completion out of /5. Students forfeit all marks if they do not have pens on the floor. 1) First go around to all the students. Give a mark out of five based on completion. Since the first class is small, this will not be hard to do. But for the second class, you will have to work quickly; otherwise you will take too long. While you check homework, ask class to speak quietly. Afterwards you can correct by calling out some answers, or having students do so, and then you can verify responses. Responses for the vocabulary can be found at the beginning of the booklet of Aventures en plein airs. You can always make acetates, but the photocopy machine is very finicky, and you will have to ask Debbie in the office to help you. You decide. But do these corrections quickly and efficiently. If you arrive nice and early, this is the best way and the most efficient way to ensure optimum correction of this work. Inform students to review this as they will be getting a quiz on this sometime soon. You can even give students five minutes to review in partners, but preferably just do it as a break between this and the next activity. 2) In carnet page 31, complete this listening exercise. If I have already done it with the students, then please move on to the next exercise. Answers are in the back of the teacher’s guide of Ca Marche 2, Aventures ne plein air.
