Sample Programs by Interest Area: Art · University of the Arts: Summer Institute for High School Students http://www.uarts.edu/k-12/precolsi.html The 400 high school students who attend the Pre-College Summer Institute travel to Philadelphia from over 30 states and numerous nations. They are creative, curious, talented, energetic and excited about the arts. Our programs foster investigation and exploration of the principles of creativity and focus on the development of each individual student. Through these programs students gain an enriching and enlightening experience, and a better understanding of the nature of a professional training program. In each of our four-week programs, students are enrolled in rigorous and highly structured college-level courses taught by our full-time faculty. Upon successful completion of the summer program, students earn six college credits, all fully accredited New York University courses. Business Sample: Management and Technology Summer Program The Management & Technology Summer Institute (M&TSI) is a for-credit summer program for rising high school seniors who want to learn about the integration of technological concepts and management principles. Sponsored by The Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, M&TSI features classes taught by leading faculty and successful entrepreneurs, field trips to companies and R&D facilities, intensive team projects, as well as other activities designed to give students the opportunity to learn about the principles and practice of technological innovation. This three-week for-credit program will take place from July 13 through August 2, 2008. Science The MIT Women's Technology Program (WTP) is a four-week summer academic and residential experience where female high school students explore engineering through hands-on classes, labs, and team-based projects in the summer after 11th grade .
