About Me

About Me
I am a graduate of Riverside High School and am glad to be back at Riverside to serve the students of Moosic and Taylor.  I am available before school and 10th period to discuss academic, career, or social questions.  Please come and introduce yourself to me.  I love good news!

Education
I received a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a Master's degree in School Counseling from the University of Scranton.  I have taken several courses beyond my Master's degree addressing topics such as gifted education, crisis intervention, school safety, school crisis response, nutrition and wellness for students, etc.

Exercise science is a major that combines the study of anatomy and physiology with nutrition and physical activity.  Many exercise physiologists work in sports medicine, rehabilitation, nutrition/dietetics, and athletic/fitness clubs.  I previously worked for a medically based fitness center and a rehabilitation products manufacturer.

School Counseling is a growing and developing field!  School counselors can help with career planning, academic difficulties, and social issues.  Counseling coursework includes the study of child and adolescent development, psychology, counseling theories, career development, substance abuse, appraisal/testing techniques, research, and current trends/professional development.

Interesting fact:
As a graduate student, I taught an anatomy and physiology lab at the University of Scranton.  I also worked part-time for the admissions department.  I loved teaching and working one on one with students!

Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family (especially my nephews), running, playing tennis, bike riding, cooking/baking, and traveling to new places.

I am looking foward to a successful year!
