Music Appreciation
Music Appreciation is integrated into choir and band in the junior high. This year, we will study the Renaissance & Baroque Periods and include the music of Vivaldi, Bach, and Handel. We will continue our understanding of written music through music theory, and then create and improvise music on the xylophones to reinforce our understanding of theory. Finally, we will compose our own song. We will learn how to use a computer program to make our pieces look professional. Music Appreciation counts as 25 - 33% of the student's grade in choir (depending on the grade level).
