Science Mysteries
You will be playing the role of a medical investigator tracking down the causes of mysterious outbreaks of disease around the world.
The first mystery to solve is called the Blackout Syndrome and can be found at: http://www.accessexcellence.org/AE/mspot/tbs/
As a medical investigator, you will take notes. The purpose of the notes is for you to record any clues in helping you solve the mystery. Once you form a hypothesis/conclusion, you will use your notes to provide a justification that explains why you formed that particular conclusion.
You'll be practicing a scientific thinking routine which involves careful observation, hypothesis generation, data collection and the analysis of the data which leads you to your conclusion. In these mysteries, you'll form hypotheses on what is the observable cause of the disease, how it is spread and any microscopic pathogen that may be involved. Please download the file listed below to take notes.
