Molecular Workbench Activities
Background Information

As scientists, we like to discover the causes behind the scenes of our observable world.  What causes water to evaporate?  What is water anyway and why does it freeze, melt, evaporate and float away in clouds?

To answer this question fully, we need to explore the atomic and molecular worlds that are normally invisible to the naked eye.  How can we do that?  We'll be using interactive animations of atoms and molecules visualized through computer simulations.
Molecular Workbench Activity:
  1. Click on the link to the Molecular Workbench found below.
  2. Follow the instructions on the webpage to "Launch MW 2.0"
  3. Then find the Activity Center in the left panel of the webpage.
  4. In the first list, click on the link, "Phase Changes."  It is the fourth from the last position in the first list.
  5. Read each of the nine pages and complete every exercise you find there.
