Meet Mrs. Miller

     Hi! I am Mrs. Miller. I teach third grade at Fishcreek. My favorite thing is teaching technology and integrating it into the curriculum. Our classroom has wonderful technology "toys" which we will be utilizing as the year progresses. The students and I really enjoy reading, writing and practicing math and problem solving skills (among other things) on the set of Palm handhelds we have in our classroom. This is my 29th year of teaching. I began in kindergarten and slowly moved to first grade, then second grade. I taught Multi-age 1/2 and 2/3 for several years each. I then landed in third grade and have been there ever since!

      I have two sons, David who is 25 years old and Kyle is 22. David has recently graduated from Akron Machine Institute and is a machinist. Kyle working on his Masters in Architecture at Clemson University in South Carolina.  I am a single mom and come from a family of five children. We all remain close and love to spend time together. My three sisters and I visit Hilton Head Island every summer and spend a week together enjoying each other's company, the shopping, the sand and the sun (our favorite vacation since we were babies!)

     I am an animal lover...I have one cat at home, Casper, and two leopard Geckos named Lizzie and Rex. Three years ago, adopted an  older puppy named Chuck. He adds life to my home  and keeps me company when my boys are gone! In my spare time, I play on my computer and my iPod touch. I love to tole paint, make cards using stamps, design and create beaded jewelry. I love teaching third grade...the children are developing a great sense of humor and we have a lot of fun doing all of our activities and projects.  I am looking forward to a fun filled year of learning!
