Parliamentarian: Becky Bruno There are many committees that need chairpersons and additional committee members to make the programs successful.
Opportunities for you to serve:
Communications: Newsletter (Editor: Kaye Cloutman) Volunteers needed for the following tasks: Fliers - creation of fliers to promote activities and events Update PTA Shadow Box - beginning of each month, replace fliers and calendar in shadow box near Staff Room Print Reduction Program - oversee distribution of fliers and newsletters from PTA in the Thursday Folders to help reduce cost and waste. Banners/Posters - fun, creative, and eye-catching promotion of events. Frequency is as needed.
Membership Drive: Chairperson: Laurie Renish Committee members needed. Help determine the theme, promotions, tracking, etc.
Fundraising Chairperson: Valorie Wagner Committee members needed. Help determine the best options for our campus.
Volunteer Coordination: Chairperson: Nanette Hamilton Committee members needed. Three For Me Program Volunteer Survey (data entry required) Communicate needs of campus to those who are available and willing... (making phone calls, writing emails, etc.)
Apparel: Determine design (come up with something new, or stay with design that has been for past two years, or go back to previous design...) We have a great vendor if you choose to stay with them (they will create new designs, too) promote sales, track orders, distribution Usually sales are done early in the school year, then again in early February
Halloween Carnival: Chairperson: Becky Bruno Need leaders to help: Ticket Sales Coordinator - preparation, promotion, and tracking of all ticket sales. Game Coordinator - determining which games to use, and making sure all pieces are in good condition in advance, set up and break down of games on day of event. Volunteer Coordinator - organizes all volunteers to work the games (fill all shifts) Prize Coordinator - orders and organizes prizes, set up and clean up during event
Disaster Preparedness: Chairperson: NEEDED Keeping our disaster shed properly stocked. Organizing classroom emergency bags (making sure fully stocked at beginning of school year, making sure every classroom has a bag, etc.).
Programs/Events: for many of these programs, it just requires someone to schedule and promote Reflections - National PTA Art program, promotion begins in September Student Assemblies - scheduling 3-4 assemblies (about one a quarter) School Night Out - schedule with local restaurants (monthly or quarterly) Family Social Events (for past couple years have successfully had Hot Cocoa & Cookie social in January, Family Game Night, end of year Family Fun Night) Community Fundraisers (Safeway eScrip program, Target, Office Depot, etc.) Red Ribbon Week (early October) Make A Difference Day (October) December Gift Store (early December, planning starts by end of October, communications in November) Spirit Week (usually January) Walk/Bike to School Events Teacher Appreciation (week in May, determine if continuing monthly grade level lunches)
