Dear Parents, 

     It is hard to believe that the year will soon be over.  I hope your child has enjoyed his or her fourth grade year as much as I have enjoyed teaching them.  All the children have made great strides in many areas, and I am confident that they are ready for the challenges of fifth grade. 

     Please check the homework page or month-at-a-glance calendar for a listing of the final tests.  I will not give any homework this week or next so that the students may prepare thoroughly for the tests.  They will not be able to use a homework pass for the adverb study guide that is due on Tuesday.

     Our end of the year party for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will be held on Wednesday, May 30.  We will sample foods from the novel and watch the DVD.  Our class picnic will be held on Thursday, May 31 immediately following the awards ceremony. Room mothers will contact you about both of these special events.

     I hope all of you have a safe, restful, and glorious summer!  Happy travels, and don't forget to read!
