Kindergarten Adventures 2011 - 2012
We are ready for a brand new year of learning adventures. Check back often and watch while we JOYfully grow in God's love.
December
Learning, projects, and special events filled the busy days of December. We learned all about the birth of Jesus and made a very special nativity set for our families. This month we began an author study of Jan Brett. With the help of our fabulous families, we celebrated her book, Gingerbread Baby, with a morning of games, crafts, snacks, and gingerbread house building. It was so much fun to see our first and second grade friends on the stage presenting their Christmas play. After Christmas vacation we'll be ready for more kindergarten adventures!
November
We were thankful for all the fun we had in November. We were busy making and reading books. Our book boxes at home are a little fuller this month. We learned about the changes of fall and all the beauty in God's creation.
October
October was so much fun it was spooky! We enjoyed our field trip to Stokoe Farm. A few sprinkles didn't keep us from having tons of fun. We set up our Pretend Center as a Farm Market. Thanks to our generous families we have had lots of produce for sale. All this month we have been learning about God's beautiful gift of creation. We have talked about how we can care for all He has given us. Our Halloween celebration was a super way to end a fun month. Thanks to all our families who were able to help or who sent in a supply.
September
We were busy this month creating our School Family and meeting all our friends. There were many new routines to learn. We have been taking turns being the class Special Helper. On the day a child is Special Helper we all do a name cheer for that child. WOW! You can learn a lot about letters and sounds from your friend's name.
