LOU ARMSTRONG |

|
Louis T. Armstrong Prior to joining St. Francis, he ran a computer consulting business and served as Vice President/Publisher of computer journals for The Cobb Group. He also taught classes in several area high schools through Junior Achievement. He earned both his BS Industrial Engineering and MBA degrees from Stanford University, and more recently he completed his MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching) at Bellarmine University. Lou's an avid runner, having completed 13 marathons, including the Boston Marathon 5 times. His interests also include amateur astronomy, and occasionally playing the highland bagpipes (when it doesn't annoy his family too much). Lou and his wife, Cindy, have two children, both of whom graduated from St. Francis. MathCounts History St. Francis participates in MathCounts, a mathematics contest that allows students to extend their classroom learning. The regional competition is held in February, involving over 25 of the top public and private middle schools in the greater Louisville area. St. Francis regularly places in the top third of this elite group of schools, and in 2002 had the top invididual scorer. Lou has high expectations for the 2008 team. Track & Field History Thanks to coaches Mike Black and Teresa Saborsky, and a consistent group of dedicated and enthusiastic athletes, St. Francis has enjoyed remarkable athletic success in Track & Field. Over the past 9 years, St. Francis boys and girls teams have won the North Central Kentucky Championship 14 times and the KCD Invitational 12 times (18 possible titles). Our athletes have gone on to become individual and team high school state champions, as well as compete successfully at the collegiate level.
