4/23
Dear parents;

I want to thank you ahead of time for being flexible on our upcoming field trip.  Although I do not like the idea of not taking a school bus, in reality we would be spending way too much for a bus and since we have such supportive and dedicated parents that we as a community decided to carpool.  Please bring a sack lunch or prepare to purchase food at the facility.  I will be informing you later on this week about the rules and regulations of the field trip.  Again thanks for working together it truly makes a difference.

4/2  Well, well, well it's April already and we need to plan for our field trip.  We will be visiting the Nixon Library in late April/early May.  As noted on 3/5 the deadline for Fundertainment has passed however we need to come up with a way that we work towards our field trip for Knott's Berry Farm in May/June.  Let's brainstorm, so that it can be fair.  I know that Mrs. Carrillo brought/donated  $20.00 worth of Gatorades for Snack Shop as Andres's goal to attend this trip.  We are always in need of supplies; baby wipes, clorox wipes, copy paper, kleenex, towel paper...THINK ABOUT IT!

Classdojo.com- I am going to need your parents e-mails where they can receive alerts based on your classroom performance.  I do have a few e-mails but they may have been updated.  Your parent/s will be receiving a progress report of your daily activities in class! This could definetly make or break your field trip attendance... Remember, we are beginning to mold our future by taking A.C.T.I.O.N.

Welcome!  Today our extended classmates will be visiting.

3/21 We had a great time at Walk-A-Thon 2012.  A special thanks to Anissa Avelar who led the cheer our parents who walked with us today and helped out throughout the day.  Please note that I had to change some test dates to accommodate our schedule.  Report cards go home tomorrow.  We did have a few students who received High Honors, nevertheless you all have improved in many areas.  There still one more trimester to go and I have higher expectations; more writing, in class projects and plays, at home projects focusing on the U.S. and much more.  In addition to introducing algebra, measurements and geometry along with mastering basic math skills.

3/14- Math Ch. 5-1 thru 5-5 Mini-Quiz on Thursday....

Bring in your Walk-A-Thon money.

Our girls have been doing well with their games.  A special thanks to Mrs. Chora and Mrs. Dahdouh for donating St. Patrick Decorations for our class.  If you can, please attend this Saturday's St. Patrick Feast that begins at the church at 5 p.m. and reception to follow in the auditorium.  WEAR FORMAL, PLEASE!  This is not mandatory!!!

3/5-We currently have a test for Social Studies Chapter 8 scheduled for this Thursday, we might have to postpone test for Monday, March 12th.

- Begin collecting your pledges for Walk-A-Thon 2012
Purchase one DVD through FUNDERTAINMENT to support the school
FIELD TRIP GOALS: Nixon Library in April-I will be observing those who have taken A.C.T.I.O.N. all year long to attend this important and informative field trip; Knott's Berry Farm in May is an extra field trip for everyone as long as we participate in Walk-A-Thon and sign-up to purchase one DVD from FUNDERTAINMENT.

3/1 Our new Title I teacher will be assessing various students tomorrow to see who will begin the Math Program.  I still have not heard much about the afterschool program, but I believe it may happen soon.

2/29 Walk-A-Thon Assembly
Don't forget to start requesting your pledges early!  I would love for all of you to participate in this years event, however you must try your best to pledge instead of just having one person giving you the money instead.  All you can do is ask, the worst that someone can say to you is that they are sorry and that they can't.  So go out there and make a difference!  Let's try to get all of the monies in first and walk first this year!  Go Knights!
